Blog Post "ONE" - Welcome to The Transformation Life

Blog post one. Sort of.

I actually have no idea what number this is in terms of blog posts I (or Janell) have written…

I’ve been at this since 2009, writing every single week anywhere from 3 - 5 times a week.

Well over a million words.

But, as far as this blog goes, this is post number 1.

And, it’s one I’m more excited about than any I’ve written…

I’m probably a little nervous about it, too. Although, chemically, there’s actually no difference.

Yeah, did you know that when you break down what’s actually happening inside of you when you’re nervous about something it’s pretty much the same thing that happens inside of you when you’re excited about something?

Use that for some perspective the next time you start getting butterflies in your stomach…

Flip the script on the meaning you’re giving the experience and reframe that nervousness into excitement!

Then, instead of nervousness holding you back, let that excitement propel you forward…

I could go deeper on that, but that’s not what this post is about. Perhaps another day. I’m pretty sure we’ve covered that on an episode of The Transformation Show though.

Back to this blog post…

What makes it so special? Why the nervousness/excitement?

Well, it’s kinda like the maiden voyage of THIS new blog, this new Transformation Life website.

I’m super excited about this new site! It’s been a long time coming…

And, while certainly NOT my specialty, I chose to build it all myself.

Yup, all the layout and design of this site was done by me … and is still a work in progress.

(NOTE: I did rely on some professional help with getting most of the graphics done)

Every word on these pages is mine, too.

So, why does that matter? And, more importantly, what does any of that have to do with you?

Well, it matters because this site is all about TRANSFORMATION.

Transforming yourself.

Bettering yourself.

Learning, growing, expanding.

Not about website design or copywriting…

About whatever YOU want.

Of course, while the primary focus of The Transformation Life is around body transformation, sustainable weight loss, and overall health & fitness, at the core, all transformation is the same

And, all transformations ultimately succeed (or don’t) because of the same thing - OURSELVES.

NOTE: I purposely didn’t use the word “fail” in that last sentence. That, too, is another blog post altogether. In the meantime, I encourage you to schedule a time to listen to episode #82 of The Transformation Show: The Four Blessings of Failure.

It’s our own limiting beliefs and the stories we tell ourselves (usually about ourselves) that keep us from achieving our goals, often keeping us from even trying…

Through this blog, our podcast, and our newsletter we will share our knowledge about and experience with limiting beliefs, disempowering stories, and the negative bias of the mind so you can overcome any obstacle and achieve your body transformation goals.  We'll also share practical exercise and nutrition tips, teach you how to maximize your health and well-being, and of course, share some delicious recipes. :-)

If you’d like to be notified when a new blog is posted, sign up for our newsletter on the home page or the footer of any page on this hub site.

Circling back real quick to why I chose to build this website (our business “hub”) by myself…

Because of the process.

Yes, I wanted the outcome. But, there was a lot to learn through the process…

And, I’m not talking about the tech or any of that stuff.

I’m talking about what I learned about myself while I was learning about the tech and other stuff…

For one, I AM capable.

I certainly didn’t design the best-looking website on the internet. And, it certainly took me a lot longer to put together than it would have any expert. And, it probably still has some “bugs” in it…

But, I got it done!

I #embracedthesuck.

And, because I was willing to push past my limitations, overcome my frustrations, and do a lot of tinkering…

I grew.

I developed a skill that I didn’t have before and will now benefit my business going forward. :-)

I see this so often as a fitness professional…

Countless people give up at the first sign of difficulty or setback. There’s an even bigger group of people who never even get started!

But, those that do start and do #embracethesuck, tinker, and learn along the way … they’re the ones who will enjoy the victory. They’re the ones transforming their bodies and their lives, achieving things others can only dream of.

If you want to be in the winning group, I invite you to stick around - be a regular reader and listener of our content.

Oh, and I should also make it very clear…

It’s not about going it alone.

I certainly didn’t with this website. I signed up for a “training program”, and I asked questions in the Facebook Group.

Also, I didn’t allow myself to get caught up in comparing my site to others in the program!  I just focused on what I was building.

Have you ever compared your results to someone else’s?

Do you ever judge your beginning against someone else’s middle?

It’s OK to look at others for inspiration, to see what’s possible, but it’s so important to stay focused on your own journey … look at how far you’ve come, not how far you have to go.

The former will motivate you to keep going. The latter will demotivate you and make you quit.

On that note, and as a great way to end this post, here’s a great book recommendation for you → The Gap & The Gain by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy.
