Are You Ready to Transform Your Body...Today?

When it comes to weight loss, fitness, and body transformation there’s one thing a lot of people just don’t pay attention to…

In fact, I consider it one of the “secrets” to achieving the transformation results you desire…

By changing what you do after your workout, you can double your energy, accelerate fat loss, and feel better faster without doing a single extra minute of exercise!

You see, what most people don’t pay attention to is the fact that body transformation results don’t actually come in the gym…

Your workout, done right, is the stimulus for body transformation.

The actual body transformation (weight loss, strength gains, muscle-building, cardiovascular health, etc.) come in the recovery process.

Now, there’s a lot that goes into maximizing your recovery…

Of course, the big ones are supportive nutrition and SLEEP.

Then there are things like supplementation, active recovery exercises (which could be as simple as walking), stretching, and massage. Nowadays, we also have cool toys like Normatec, red light, Bemer, and more. But, let’s not forget ancient tools like meditation and breathwork.

All of these things will help you recover faster and allow you to perform more intense body transformation-stimulating workouts more often.

You see, one of the oldest and most basic principles of training is the F.I.T.T. principle, which stands for Frequency, Intensity, Time, and Type.

How often, how hard, how long, and what you actually do.

But, underneath all of that, what you’re really balancing is stimulus and response, with RECOVERY being the foundation of your body transformation.

Work out too soon, too hard, too long, or do the wrong thing and you’re actually working against yourself.

The same is true if you wait too long, go too easy, or don’t do enough…

Can you see why we have fitness professionals, people who do this for a living? ;-)

It’s also why I’m so passionate and adamant about great program design.

By the way, in a recent survey of our members at The Transformation Club, almost 95% said that my program design was an important factor in their decision to be a member.

Now, even with the great programming you’ve got to pay attention to what you do outside of the gym…

I already mentioned the various things you can do to facilitate your recovery and subsequent body transformation.

Now I want to make a suggestion to really help you dial in your workouts day to day…

Use a device like the WHOOP Band or the Oura Ring.

These devices literally give you a Recovery or ReadinessScore, (they’re basically the same thing), essentially telling you how to hit your workout today…even telling you when to take the day off!

Without getting into the weeds, these devices evaluate your recovery based on things like sleep, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, etc. to give you an objective directive for the day's workout.

What I love about these devices is that they remove your subjective opinion…

You know, sometimes you might feel like dogging it or even skipping a workout but your device says you’re ready to rock…so you do…and you’re so glad you did after an amazing workout. :-)

Other times, you think you’re good to go and your device says, “back off a little” or even, “sorry bubba, you need a rest day.” It’d be great if it actually talked like that. ;-b

The point is, what we’re feeling in the moment (especially for those of us who workout early in the morning and that alarm going off just sucks) isn’t always an accurate picture of what’s going on and sometimes (a lot of times) it helps to have something outside of us give us the kick in the ass (or the occasional hug) we need…

I’ve been using devices like these for several years now and I’ve absolutely seen a difference, whether it was a period of time where I was training my ass off for something and I was shocked at how much I could do without needing to back off or it was a time in my life where I was under a lot of stress and regardless of how good things like nutrition and sleep were my body just wasn’t in a position to crush workouts.

Personally, I can’t see myself ever not using one of these devices as part of my overall health and fitness program.

Over the years, I’ve used a few different devices but at this point (and for the past couple of years) I’m in favor of either the WHOOP Band or the Oura Ring.

I actually prefer the WHOOP Band overall and it’s my first recommendation to clients, but I personally use the Oura Ring - simply because I’m one of those people that doesn’t like to wear something on my wrist all day. I’m not a watch guy. Besides, I don’t want to cover up my FAITH or ACTION wrist tattoos. ;-)

FYI, Janell uses the WHOOP and loves it!

If you want to get the most out of your body transformation training efforts, I highly recommend getting one of these two devices.
