Fitness on the Fly: Making Your Workouts Work with Your Travel Schedule

Let’s talk about making your fitness routine work seamlessly with your travel schedule. This won't be just another travel workout guide; it’s more of a paradigm shift.

You might currently identify as someone who only commits to consistent workouts when it’s convenient or when you're motivated. If that's you, you're going to hit some roadblocks. You'll find it tough to get the fitness results you truly want and reach your potential.

Those who maintain their fitness and stay fit regardless of their circumstances don't let travel, vacations, busy work schedules, or much of anything throw them off track. They just work out. It's part of their identity. It's a lifestyle, not a chore.

Don’t worry if you’re not that person (yet). You can be.

But the journey to becoming that person starts now, by doing what that person does.

Take it from me - I wasn’t always that person.

Neither was Janell.

And neither were many of our clients who are now embracing this fitness journey wholeheartedly.

I love it when clients show up to our virtual workouts, or check in to let me know they did it, all while they're traveling or on vacation!

By the way, some of our most dedicated clients didn’t even like working out or going to gyms at all initially. Now, they prioritize fitness no matter where they are. They can't imagine missing their session.

How does that transformation happen?

By making a decision. A decision to exercise while traveling, a decision to maintain fitness irrespective of location or circumstances.

This doesn't need to be a monumental decision at first. You don’t have to start with the decision that you’re going to be the person who works out consistently, even when you travel. You can just start with the small decision that you’re going to work out today.

With time, as you keep making that decision, it becomes second nature. It’s pre-decided. It’s no longer a question of, "Will I work out today?" or "Do I feel like working out?". You just work out.

Instead, you may find yourself asking, "How will I approach my workout today?" or "How can I improve upon my last workout?" or "What personal record will I go for today?".

People who are successful in their fitness journey ask different questions. They think differently.

Here's a modified version of a story I once heard:

Three people are driving past an exotic car dealership. The first person says, “I can’t imagine owning one of those.” The second person says, “One day, I’m going to own one of those.” And, the third person says, “One day, I’m going to own the whole dealership.”

Same situation. Different perspectives.

I see this all the time, whether it’s with fitness clients or business clients.

One person asks, “Why can’t I have that?” while another person asks “What can I do to have that?”

So, what questions will you ask? How will you prioritize fitness?
